GTPM805: URBAN TRANSPORT MANAGMENT
Performance of urban and inter urban public transport systems; urban transport systems; urban transport
problems and policy options; urban passenger transport in Nigeria, management of urban transport
systems; development of mass transit infrastructures and traffic facilities; the prospects and limits
of Mass transit; Allocating road space in urban areas; travelers perception and attitudes and travelers
responses to new systems and changing transport rules.

GTPM807: TRANSPORT LOGISTICS AND DISTRIBUTION

goods vehicular; manufacturing and logistics systems, effects of delivery times restrictors and modes
on operating cost.
GTPM808: TRANSPORT POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURES

transportation; Transportation systems. Maintains; cost-benefit approach. Administration and fiancé of

GTPM809: TRANSPORT AND THE ENVIRONMENT:

GTPM810: TRANSPORT FOR RECREATION AND TOURISM

To enable students develop an understanding of those aspects of economic methodology relevant to the
analysis of the transport sector. To apply economic methods to the resolution of transport problems.

GTPM812: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN TRANSPORTATION
ORGANIZATIONS
A review of the imperative of human resource management in organisation, Human resource aspects of
managing transportation systems (including labour /management collaboration/negotiation and
consultative employee relations programs); leadership skill development and team building achieve
positive organizational change in a transportation system.
GTPM814: LEGAL AND REGULATORY ISSUES.
This course explores the legal and regulatory issues of transportation system. The topical issues the
course addresses include the nature of regulations in transport; legal systems in transport such as
legal mandates for training and safety in the different modes of transport. Issues of enforcement,
penalties and institutional framework for transport regulators. Administrative and operational controls
in transport. Case studies of regulatory and legal issues in Nigeria.
GTPM815: AIR TRANSPORT INDUSTRY
The design of this course is to provide an overview of the airline industry; airline business model,
air transport and tourism, fundamentals of air transport, airline operations in Nigeria.
GEOG802: RESEARCH METHODS.
The course is design to provide students with basic training in research approaches, methods and
techniques so that they are able to undertake high-quality independent research in their chosen
subject areas within the programme. Formulating research proposals, literature review, data collection,
data analysis and communication of research ideas. Preparation for a successful thesis.
GEOG832: QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES
Historical development of transport statistical Historical development of transport statistical concept
; methods of collection of statistical data; stagiest of transport statistical survey; Application of
non inferential statistics (i.e. tables, Histogram, Bar graph etc); application of transport
inferential statistics; modeling of flows. Flows and flow typologies; analyses of movement in space

RGIS803: FUNDAMENTALS OF GIS
The historical development of cartography and spatial data collection procedures. The fundamental
principles and application of GIS, remote sensing and computer modeling. Introduction to key GIS
concepts and techniques; processing and applications of GIS data on natural and environmental resources
and land information, census, geodemographic, health, cadastral systems, and infrastructure management.

Database (definition, data, types of data -spatial, relational, functions of database); Database
Management Systems (definition, components, reasons for database management systems, advantages of

systems); Database Design - stages in database design (requirements collection and analysis, conceptual
